In January, February and March, the tapestry weavers met up at least twice a month to teach more people the basic principles from Hilary Charlesworth's excellent notes and to work on techniques for the main tapestry. There were a few problems with the mixing of the colours to achieve the desired effect and so small samplers were used to experiment. Lots of experimentation and learning took place until we establ8ished the Sark method.... our own method of thread mixing to establish what felt the right way to represent the Sark landscape. Hilary Charlesworth came for a few days holiday and met up with the group at in informal Sunday lunch. She was impressed witht the standard of work achieved so far and gave us a few professional tips and this further inspired the group. Watch this space for about the progress of this project.
